TOUR DU RWANDA CODE OF CONDUCT

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, sponsors, staff, and organizers of this event. We expect everyone to always abide by this code of conduct, both online and in person. 

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, sponsors, and staff of the TOUR DU RWANDA, that is, anyone attending, speaking, presenting, exhibiting, sponsoring, volunteering, organizing, or otherwise involved in any capacity in the TOUR DU RWANDA.

Expected Behavior

 

Participants, sponsors, and staff of the TOUR DU RWANDA must:
 

  • Treat all other participants, sponsors, and staff with respect and dignity, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other aspect of their identity or background. 

  • Follow all applicable rules and procedures of the TOUR DU RWANDA, including any relevant health and safety protocols, and cooperate with the TOUR DU RWANDA organizers and security staff. 

  • Respect the intellectual property and privacy rights of other participants, sponsors, and staff, and refrain from copying, recording, or distributing any materials or information without proper authorization. 

  • Respect the views and opinions of other participants, sponsors, and staff, and engage in constructive and respectful dialogue and debate. 

  • Respect the environment and minimize the environmental impact of their participation in the TOUR DU RWANDA.

     

Unacceptable Behavior 
 

Participants, sponsors, and staff of the TOUR DU RWANDA must not: 
 

  • Engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abuse, whether verbal, physical, or sexual, towards any other participant, sponsor, or staff. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive or derogatory comments, jokes, gestures, images, or actions that create a hostile or offensive environment or that demean, humiliate, or threaten another person. 

  • Engage in any disruptive or inappropriate behavior that interferes with the smooth running of the TOUR DU RWANDA or the enjoyment of other participants, sponsors, or staff. 

  • Engage in any commercial or promotional activity that is not authorized by the TOUR DU RWANDA organizers or that conflicts with the TOUR DU RWANDA’S mission and values. Commercial or promotional activity includes, but is not limited to, soliciting, selling, advertising, or endorsing any products, services, or causes that are not related to the TOUR DU RWANDA or its partners. 

  • Engage in Disruptive or inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to, excessive noise, drunkenness, violence, vandalism, 

  • Consumption of alcohol or drugs to the point of impairment or causing a disturbance. 

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

 

Dress Code 
 

We ask that all attendees dress appropriately and professionally for the event. Please avoid wearing clothing that is revealing, offensive, or inappropriate for a outdoor public setting. We reserve the right to ask anyone to change their attire or leave the event if they violate this policy. 

Inappropriate outfit: “The outfits must be respectful and not offend cultural values. Inappropriate, provocative, partially, or explicitly nude outfits are considered disrespectful and offensive.” 


 

Alcohol and Drugs 
 

We understand that some attendees may choose to consume alcohol or other substances during the event. However, we ask that you do so responsibly and in moderation. Please do not drink or use drugs. We reserve the right to refuse service, remove, or ban anyone who is visibly intoxicated, disorderly, or poses a risk to themselves or others. 
 

Consequences 
 

The TOUR DU RWANDA organizers reserve the right to take any appropriate action to ensure the compliance with this Code of Conduct, including, but not limited to, issuing a warning, removing or banning a participant, sponsor, or staff from the TOUR DU RWANDA or any TOUR DU RWANDA-related activity, or reporting the incident to the relevant authorities. 

The TOUR DU RWANDA organizers will not tolerate any retaliation against anyone who reports or witnesses a violation of this Code of Conduct.

The TOUR DU RWANDA organizers will handle all reports and inquiries with confidentiality and sensitivity and will take appropriate measures to address the situation.
